ALTENEX ENERGY B.V.

COOKIE NOTICE

Effective Date:  January 1, 2020 (last updated September 8, 2020)

This notice explains Altenex Energy’s approach to cookies and other similar technologies. When you visit our websites, use our mobile apps, engage with our online ads or emails (collectively, our “Service”), we collect information, using technologies such as cookies, pixel tags (also called web beacons), browser analysis tools, and server logs. Each of these technologies is explained below.

What are Cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are text files placed on your computer to collect standard internet log information and visitor behavior information. The Service will at times place and/or store code or other types of information and/or software on your computer, tablet, mobile phone, television, or any other device capable of accessing the Service (each a “Device”) or within your browser, such as cookies (including flash cookies), locally shared objects and HTML5 (collectively, including “Cookies“). When you visit our website, we may collect information from you automatically through Cookies.

What types of Cookies do we use?

We have categorized the Cookies used on our Service as follows:

Necessary Cookies.  Necessary cookies are required for our Service to work properly through our privacy panel. They are placed on your Device when you request a specific action or service (e.g., when you log in, fill out a form or set your Cookie preferences). If you set your browser to block or alert you about these Cookies, certain parts of our Service won’t work. Deletion of these Cookies will disable major sections of our Service.

Statistical Cookies.  Statistical or analytical cookies, delivered by us and other companies, help us to count the visits on our Service and know the sources of traffic. The data we derive allows us to understand what visitors like most and improve the Service.  In order to provide our visitors with better content, we measure the number of page views, the number of visits, the different actions performed by visitors on our site, the geo-location of our visitors and the number of times visitors return to our site. If you delete these cookies, your frequency of visits, region, city, pageviews, bounces, site of origin, exit page, etc. cannot be tracked.

Customization Cookies.  Customization cookies allow you to configure our Service according to your preferences (e.g., language, region) and enable enhanced functionality. They are delivered by us or by other companies. If you do not accept these Cookies, we will not be able to save your preferences and some services on our Service will not be available. If you delete them, personal preferences cannot be saved, and the site will forget your preferences.

Marketing Cookies.  Marketing Cookies on our Service are delivered by other companies and used to identify your interests and display relevant advertising content when you browse outside of our website. These Cookies can enable social media features such as sharing and to simplify registration. If you do not accept them, you will still see online ads, but they will be less relevant. If you delete them, you will receive random, non-personalized ads and certain user behaviors will not be tracked.  Marketing cookies also include Cookies that allow you to interact with us and others via social media platforms, such as Facebook or LinkedIn. We may display interest-based ads to you when you are using platforms and the platforms allow us to personalize the ads that we display to you.

What are cookies used for?

We (and third parties unaffiliated with us to whom we disclose Personal Information for their own purposes) (“Third Party Businesses”) may independently use Cookies in connection with the Service in a way that collects Personal Information for the purposes described in our Privacy Policies, including without limitation to determine whether you have seen a particular advertisement before on the same or different Device and to otherwise control and tailor the display of ads to you based on your preferences, to track the movements of individual users through the Service and elsewhere on the web or across apps, devices, and geographic locations, to help diagnose problems with servers, to gather broad demographic information, to conduct research, to deliver editorial Content, to record registration and personalization information, and to otherwise administer the Service. For example, if you register on any part of the Service and are given the option to save your username and password, we may provide this convenience to you via Local Device Storage.

In addition to Cookies, we may use web beacons, web bugs, internet or pixel tags, clear gifs, digital fingerprinting (also known as “Machine Identification“) and similar technologies (collectively, Machine Identification together with Cookies, the “Tracking Technologies”) on the Service, including in our communications with you, such as within e-mail and text messages and push notifications. We and Third Party Businesses use Tracking Technologies to determine which messages have been opened by recipients, and for all or some of the same lawful purposes described above for use of Local Device Storage.

How can you control cookies?

If you do not want Cookies, your Device or browser may include an option that allows you to not accept it. However, if you disable Cookies, some portions of the Service may not function properly.

Your browser setting may allow you to automatically transmit a “Do Not Track” (“DNT”) signal to websites and online services that you visit. There is no consensus among industry participants as to what DNT means in this context, and some browsers automatically apply DNT signals by default and therefore do not necessarily reflect our visitors’ choice as to whether they wish to receive advertisements tailored to their interests. As a result, like many websites and online services, we do not alter our practices when the Service receives a DNT signal from a visitor’s browser. As discussed below, you may opt out of the use of your Personal Information for online behavioral advertising by third parties at any time. To find out more about DNT, please visit http://allaboutdnt.com.
